Investment Philosophy

 

YJA Investments is an investment firm specializing in Chinese A-share equities. Our focus is on capital preservation, and absolute return. YJA's research process applies fundamental bottom-up research to identify stocks that offer a compelling risk/reward profile on a 1-2 year horizon. Our investment style targets high quality businesses that create economic value, and which have strong potential for significant multi-year growth. We use screening methodologies to generate a shortlist of stocks for further analysis. We do not employ pure momentum or thematic investing strategies.

 

YJA analysts are encouraged to develop independent views based on proprietary research, rather than simply follow the most fashionable stocks. The A-share market is relatively immature, and as such, offers attractive opportunities for investors who apply a disciplined and rigorous approach to stock selection.

 

 

Principal: Jenny Jin

 

Prior to founding YJA Investments in 2009, Jenny worked with international fund management companies and mutual fund JVs within China. She was a portfolio manager with China Merchants Fund, where she managed the ING China Securities Fund, ING China A Share Fund, and China Merchants Quality Growth Fund. Following this, Jenny was a fund manager and Head of Research with UBSSDIC, a JV fund management company formed by UBS and SDIC. 

 

Jenny has an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of International Business and Economics, and an MBA from the University of New South Wales, in Sydney. She is a CFA Charterholder.
